Thanks for your reply. I ultimately decided to buy a years cloud storage for $27. After reinitializing the first camera that I set up, I’m getting “some” better results. My alerts are only about 25% valid. They may be getting set off by indirect car lights that pass my house, but don’t shine on it directly. (I keep the camera pointed below the street level). I also get a LOT of bogus alerts because of minor shadow shifts from the wind. Problem now is that I have 5 more cameras and I’d like to set up 2 or 3 more, but I seem to be wasting a lot of time looking at alerts that mean nothing.
On the other hand, I have installed 3 Ring cameras that are working GREAT! They cost 3-4 times as much as the YI loT cameras, but I’m getting 0 false alerts. I’m on a 30 day trial, so I don’t know what it’s going to cost for the basic video coverage that I want, BUT I think it’s THE WAY that I should go. Too bad, YI loT’s system could have been the way to go. Now I should find someone that wants 4 -5 of their cameras.
However, my YI loT cloud purchase DID get rid of all of those OBNOXIOUS pop up ads!
PS - does anyone know why the YI loT box sez 5G on it, yet the instructions say only 2.4 G is supported? My router provides both 2.4 and 5G service. I think my Samsung Android phone switches between the beat signal - in it’s opinion. I don’t know how to freeze the phone to 2.4G for the initial setup, so maybe the problem is me!
Just too technical for an old guy! Ring sets up and operates better IMHO.
Hi. I supposedly have the 15 day, one camera subscription but no full clips ever show up under the cloud storage. This is the latest app under iOS on an iPhone 14 Pro.
When I select cloud, I see thumb nails for 15 days. I tap one and no footage is shown. I also have an SD card, and only about 1/3 of the 6 second clips are available to view as full clips from the SD card. When I see a 6 second clip, tap it, for cloud, I’m told no videos have been uploaded for that day (even for yesterday). If I select SD card, it shows it downloading, gets to 99%, jumps back to 90%, then says it can’t connect to the camera. The camera is on line as I can view the live feed and control the camera without any issues.
So I’ve been paying for cloud which is not working, and using an SD card that only works occasionally. I’m open to suggestions. Thank you.
One update on this: I pulled the memory card out and put it in my computer. All the video files are there that I expected to see in the app. So I can view with my computer, but they do not show up in the app. Seems like a big.
And still cannot see any cloud files.
Update 2: reset and started the camera. Now cloud shows up, but app still will not display SD card videos if the cloud is on. If I turn off the cloud, the videos can be played. Looks like a bug to me.
