Welcome to the forum phildbs! Ensure that there are no obstructions that may block the signal between the router and the camera. See if the connection is stable.
The cameras work fine in the Yi Home app. The problem is linking Google Home to Yi Home, it won’t allow me to link the accounts together.
Hi, let us work on it separately. Let me send you a private message.
Hi,
I am experiencing the same issue reported in this chat.
I was already using my cams with Google assistant. I add several new cameras (all yi 1080p model) and try to refresh my yi account on Google assistant. Always recieved ‘error connection message’.
I deleted my old yi connection with all devices to try to reconnect. Now it is impossible to connect. Google assistant always shows a toast with the same error, so now I don’t have any camera available on Google assistant.
It seems like the API is not properly working, but I would like a solution for this issue, since I bought this cameras because they were compatible with Google assistant…
Kindly power cycle the cameras then proceed to pair them to Google assistant.
In order to set up your YI/Kami Home cameras, please follow the directions below:
How to view YI/Kami Home cameras on Google Nest Hub or Chromcast with Google Nest speaker.
Step 1: Create a YI user account and set up a camera
If you haven’t already, please download YI Home app or Kami Home app from the App Store or Play Store and create an account
Follow the instruction to set up camera(s)
Step 2: Connect YI Home devices to Google Assistant
Download and open the Google Home app
Tap the + symbol at the top left, to Add a device
Under “Add to home” select the Blue Plus symbol to “Set up device”
In the Set Up page, select “Have something already set up?” at the bottom
In the “Manage accounts” page, find “Yi Home Camera or Kami Home Camera” from the list
In the next step, enter your user account email and password and authorize Google to access your devices
Select cameras from the list and add to a room
Step 3: If you are streaming your camera to a tv with a Chromecast make sure the device is set up.
If you are streaming to a Nest Hub make sure the device is set up.
Step 4: Control the YI Home or Kami Home cameras with Google Nest Hub or Chromecast with Google Nest speaker.
Hello,
Any chance for my 720p YI Home Camera to show in google home hub? I have two of these cameras. When I try to link the account, it shows linking account, but does not list the camera in google app.
Alguna idea???
Gracias y un saludo.
Hi,
I apologize that you are not able to log in with your YI account credentials in the Google Home app. Can you please send a screenshot of the error you are receiving? I’m not able to locate the type of camera you have. Please send a screenshot of the label on your camera.
hey sumsh0710! I regret to inform you that the 720p cameras are no longer compatible with Google home hub.
Hi joeg, I have this exact same issue where I have 3 cameras installed and working with my Kami cloud account but I’m not able to get the 3rd camera I installed most recently talking to Google home at all, even after de-linking and re-linking my Kami account, and also doing a sync my devices from Google home. What was the solution for you?
I’ve only just noticed today that my new camera is actually a Yi camera and not a Kami one, though for all intents and purposes it seems to give the exact same functionality and I thought I was buying the same camera. I noticed this only because the watermark in the corner of the image gives it away… it says Yi instead of Kami like the other two do. Then I noticed that the firmware was on a different version on the Yi camera, though all are up to date when you do a manual check. Could this be the reason? What are the other practical differences with the Yi camera versus the Kami one? Slightly worrying!
Hey Kmanpilkers! If you have the same camera model YI Home camera 720p, we apologize but this is not compatible with Google Assistant. In using both YI and Kami cameras they are basically the same and can work on both YI and Kami Home App.
Thanks for the response, is what I thought. Will the firmware on the Yi and Kami cameras ever fall in line, i.e will the Yi cameras every be supported on the Google home platform or will it likely remain for the Kami devices only?
Both YI and Kami cameras can support Google Home. It is no longer working with YI Home 720p since that is an older version camera but I this will be raise to our Engineering team. If you are using the latest version of the YI cameras you sync it in with Google Home.
I did have this all working nice with my three Yi Home 1080 cameras and my Google Nest Hub, but now I’m getting the message "Sorry, it looks like the stream is unavailable from ".
This is for all three cameras.
Do I need to do anything or is it an outage at your end?
The same thing happen to me. I bought additonal camera and it did not sync to google, so i unlink and tried to link it again and now I lost all, same error could not update settings… Do you already have the solution for this?
Hi, I have 3 YI Dome X cameras. I can successfully link my account to google home, the cameras are working well in the YI Home Camera App, but when I try to ask google assistant to turn them on or off, the answer is always: “Sorry, it looks like that device hasn’t been setup yet, you can do that in assistant settings”.
The cameras are showing in the google home app and are correctly “set up”. Despite this, the assistant does not recognise them.
I tried to unlink, link them again, uninstall the apps, etc. nothing is working to solve this problem.
Any suggestion?

I have the same issue except I can’t get past the email login to link it. I put my email in and my password. I click it confirm and it populates a longer password. The webpage and it’s password does not come up as saved in passwords. The web page came up as never saved. I deleted that.
I do have Yi home Camera saved.
When I tried to add this again it still populated the extra characters. I again don’t know where the anomaly is coming from . I’ve checked my passwords on Google. Not there.
I’m using Moto G7 Power.
No issues with the to app logging in. No issue with yi home on my desktop.
Hey @Heybierman58 Welcome to the comunity! We are so glad you’ve come.
Are you using your “stored” password where your computer automatically?
If your computer is atomically populating your password for you and its not working. Delete the sign in information you computer atomically inputed for you.
Then, manually type your login information and try to log in this way.
Please let us know how it goes!
