my 1080P yi camera works but my older 720P version ones do not. any information on this?
Hi,
@Stiz The reason why your YI Home 720p camera doesnât stream with Google, is because itâs a first generation model camera and is not supported.
ty for the response.
Hi, new to the forum but looks like the team are good at helping out and discussing new features. I agree with the above that it would be nice to be able to view in the Google home app - is there a forum from Google where we can ask them to make this available to the Yi team?
Another useful Google assistant feature might be being able to turn the camera on or off. That way they could be intergrated into a routine (say a bedtime routine). Thanks!
Hi Oli! Welcome! We love to help out whenever we can, so thanks for noticing. Thatâs not a bad idea about making some noise in a Google Forum. Iâll take a look into it.
Hello. I have it setup with google home my YI Home Camera 1080p but in Home app I have this issue
How can i setup it to view my cam in GA?
Hi,
@kayo77 I can see that your YI camera is linked in the Google Home app. In order to stream your YI Home 1080p camera with Google, you need a Nest Hub Display or Chromecast with Google Home Speaker. Once you have set up the device you are using to stream the camera, use the following commands.
- âShow [camera name]â
- âWhatâs on [camera name]?â
- â[Camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
- âPlay [camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
- âShow [camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
âStop [TV/Chromecast device name]â
I too log in with Facebook and am unable to connect to my google home account because there is no facebook log in option in the connection screen. Please help asap.
Hi,
@gbarb18 That is correct. There is no Facebook login to link the YI camera in the Google Home app. Please follow these steps to stream your YI camera with Google. You will need to create an account in the YI Home app. Please refer to this link. https://help.yitechnology.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003646193-How-to-create-a-YI-Home-Account-. After you log in, you will need to pair your camera under this account in the YI Home app. Link the YI camera in the Google Home app by signing in with your YI Account. After the camera is linked in the Google Home app, use the command to show and stop the camera stream.
We have some great news! Kami Home Cameras now also work with Google Assistant and the Google Home Hub.

Hi,
@fiuwe I was able to locate the ticket you created when you emailed our customer support. I will further address this matter in that ticket.
Hi, I have been having lots of issues with 2 Yi home cameras working on my Google Nest Hub. They seem to work sporadically and even when they do work, only show the video feed for a short while before it stops working (looks like it is trying to connect but doesnât). They work fine when viewing on my mobile phone so I know that internet is not an issue.
I have not been able to view the cameras at all for the last few days (I get the message, "sorry its looks like the stream is currently unavailable from âXâ cameraâ), could this be due to a software update on the cameras that happened a few days ago?
Please can you advise how I can fix these issues to have a steady and reliable video feed on the Google home hub mini?
Many thanks for your help.
Hi,
@iMAOther To isolate this issue, please try the following:
⢠Move the Nest Hub and camera next to your router. Power cycle the Nest Hub and the camera. (Unplug if for 5-10 seconds and plug it back in)
⢠Ensure there are no obstructions that may block the Wi-Fi signal between the router and both devices.
Then try turning off the camera in the YI Home app and then turn it back on. To do this, go into your YI Home app and click the hexagon symbol inside your camera thumbnail. In Settings, at the top of the screen, click on the green toggle switch to turn the camera off. Click the grey toggle switch to turn the camera back on. After doing so, try to stream your camera with Nest Hub.
If that doesnât work try the steps below.
- On your Nest Hub screen, swipe down from the top. Click on Cameras.
- From the list of cameras shown, click on the camera you are trying to view.
- The camera will link up and show it streaming on your Nest Hub.
Use the commands from the list below to stream the camera with Nest Hub.
- âShow [camera name]â
- âWhatâs on [camera name]?â
- â[Camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
- âPlay [camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
- âShow [camera name] on [Chromecast device name]â
âStop [TV/Chromecast device name]â
Hi.
I have a couple of Yi cameras. I try to stream them to my chromecast âhey google stream nursery camera to tvâ. I will get one image but not streaming video. It happens on both cameras.
Any ideas?
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan, thanks for joining the forum. In the cameras settings, please turn the camera off and back on and let me know if that helps.
Hi. I am afraid that doesnât help. I load the camera onto chromecast then try to turn them off and on. The effect is the same. Just stays with the opening image.
