YI IoT app becomes unresponsive and crashes when viewing video stream on iPhone

The YI IoT app (v4.0.5) crashes when attempting to view a stream on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have not seen any solutions to this posted here yet, and did not find anything recent posted about this specific issue.

Symptom: When attempting to view the video stream for a camera in the iOS app, the device will become unresponsive. Using App Switcher to move between apps will sometimes show a frame of what is currently on the camera, but then becomes unresponsive and often the entire device will shortly become unresponsive and after about 30 seconds the app will crash to the home screen.

Troubleshooting:
STEP TAKEN: Delete the app and redownload the app
RESULT: App becomes unresponsive when attempting to view video stream

STEP TAKEN: Put iPhone in recovery mode and reinstall iOS from a computer
RESULT: App becomes unresponsive when attempting to view video stream

STEP TAKEN: Tested over another wi-fi and over cellular only
RESULT: App becomes unresponsive when attempting to view video stream

STEP TAKEN: Cleared cache
RESULT: App becomes unresponsive when attempting to view video stream

STEP TAKEN: Use YI IoT app on iPad
RESULT: App will allow video stream to be viewed without becoming unresponsive. The iPad app has issues of its own. When in landscape orientation, the app displays in portrait orientation as if formatted for an iPhone. When going to full screen mode, the orientation of the stream is rotated 90º to the right and will continue to rotate 90º if orientation of the iPad is changed to portrait, resulting in the image to continue to be 90º rotated to the right. Locking the iPad orientation from the Control Center can fix this issue, but prevents the iPad from adapting to a new orientation.

STEP TAKEN: Deleted YI IoT app from iPhone, then backed up iPhone to a computer and performed a factory restore using a computer. After device was wiped and iOS 16.5 was installed, restored from backup stored on computer. Downloaded YI IoT app and signed in to account.
RESULT: App becomes unresponsive when attempting to view video stream

Possible Next Steps: It seems like this hardware might work with different apps, but this is just a hunch after trying to hunt down help. If this is true, would I be able to reset my device and then use it with an app such as Kami Home or YI Home?
