yi home android and windows apps stopped working

Hello,

Our 4 Yi home cams have stopped working today.

More precisely

  • The android app can no longer connect to the cams
  • The Windows desktop app can not log in to the account
  • But the cams are actually working – can detect motion and record to local microSD card

Can you confirm that there is a problem with yi servers or network?

Do you know when we can expect a resolution?

What region are you in? I cannot check the Windows app but I’ve checked the Android app and all is working fine for me.

Could your account have become compromised ? Do you encounter any error messages ?

Hey @stream How is it going? thanks for coming to the community forum. It would be really helpful for us if we knew what region you were in. We can do some digging and your local region to see if there are any issues. As of yet, we haven’t seen other reports of this particular outage.

Are you able to use your phone app to scan the QR code from the desktop app?

In the upper right corner of the desktop app, there is a QR button.
Go into your app, select “Account” from the Home Screen menu selection. In the upper right corner of your account menu, there is a QR code. Use this scanner to scan the QR code displayed on your desktop.
