it was from the firmware update, is there a way we I can revert the update to a previous version from the dome and dome 1080?
Seconding this. YI needs to provide us either a way to roll back, give us new cameras, or refund our money. This is absurd.
I noticed that they use different fraud ways to make you buy thier clouds…thier mobile application programmed to show corrupted SD card after a specific period after uses…then when you contact them.they will tell you try another SD card…but the problem is not SD card…the issue is thier fraud policy in thier android or ios application that mislead you to buy thier cloud space…really dissapointed…

I have the same problem. My camera do not record video on sd card. I have tried every thing suggested here but nothing works.
I’m sure this is a issue created by KAMY TO FORCE US TO BUY CLOUD SERVICES. That is a very dishonest move.
Same issue here … on my new YI dome Guard 1080…
I have other 3 cameras with no problem but this latest model is showing the problem
I also believe that this is intentional to force people to buy Cloud services…
Mine works!, After formatting the SD card by PC, FAT32
I love how All of us are having the same problem! But it’s all of our SD cards or versions or what was the 3rd thing that keeps saying it is? I’ve had multiple other cameras with no problem! Mine is a smoke detector it’s BRAND new, my SD card has been formatted multiple times, I’ve reset it multiple times my app was just installed and it’s still not working . It’s clearly a problem on their end! I’m not goin to run around chasing my tail for a misfunctioning device. Just poor quality
It is definitevly a sw/fw issue… and NOT an SD Card issue…
In fact… if I enable the continuous record it works fine … (which is totally useless)
But the record of ONLY movement activities (motion detection) doesn’t work at all on my latest YI Dome Guard 1080 model (while it was working on older models)
The YI tech support is totally unable to manag eany issue… the only thing they answer is to send an email (and they never gives some real answers wth some promise of solution here in forum)
They always negate any issue…
Time to give up here.
After following this thread, doing updates, trying different SD cards, and seeing everyone else having the exact same problems, I’m almost convinced that this is a ploy to push customers to subscribe to the cloud storage plan. There’s no reason why a high-speed SD card is being suggested. This isn’t a high-data rate 4k HDR camera. After a very short time, card after card is rejected as having a problem. And I’ve most recently been using a Sandisk Ultra, which is arguably one of the most highly regarded SD cards around. Card after card becomes corrupted and unusable.
With that said, I’m abandoning my Yi Home camera and looking for something more reputable. I’m sick of resetting, power cycling, not recording, swapping SD cards, buying SD cards, throwing out SD cards, and missing footage that should have been captured.
I agree. I have had Yi Cameras for years. And the more they started to push there cloud program the more they limited cameras with SD use and the more errors arise regarding the SD. If I am correct this company is foreign and can’t be trusted. No offense but anyone with any common sense would not feel safe giving access to footage in their home to be stored in the cloud of some foreign country that has rights and laws that aren’t regulated the same. I have this same issue and it only began to arise after updates. You can use continuous recording however your card fills up quickly. All the months of this issue going on and on they obviously don’t care to fix it. The could have created a whole new app and designed all new cameras in this time. Let alone fixing this little issue. I’m looking to find alternate cameras for my home. I suggest we all do the same.
All these issues mentioned have now startedi on my system as well I noticed my front door camera stopped recording to as and would only show live now two of my other cameras are doing the same thing. I deleted an added the cameras again with no luck. I would bet if I sign up for cloud account they would work I feel this company now is making people pay for their cameras to work and I will be looking for another system
