Unable to Share YI Home with family

Thanks for sharing this screenshot @Simop and providing a little more detail as to the error message you are receiving.

What is your location? And, what is the location of the person you are trying to share access with?
Are you comfortable sharing your login credentials with the person you’re trying to share access with?

If you’d like, you can share you login credentials, and they can just login instead of sharing via the app.

Either way, we will get this figured out!

It is my wife. therefore all from Italy. I tried to access the app with my credentials from her phone but the cameras are not displayed.

What is the phone model and operating system for both you and your wife?

Also, which app are using? Yi Home or Kami Home?

Hi Steven! Well, i solved the problem!! I have uninstalled the app in my phone and installed again and for the Moment the problem Is solved!! The app have recognized my wife’s account. Perfect! Thank you so much for all. Simone

Thanks for the update @Simop! Glad all worked out. Sometimes technology can be funny. A simple uninstall, reinstall of the app will get things squared away.

Can you and the person you’re trying to share info with uninstall your apps and reinstall and try again?
Are you using FB login? Do not use FB login if you wish to share account access with your family member.
Are you comfortable sharing your login credentials with the person? They can also log in with your info if needed.
Let me know and we will go from there!

Hi, Thanks we will try uninstalling and reinstalling. We don’t use FB to login. When I login under my username on his phone, no cameras are listed, even though I have 2 under my account on my phone.

Hey @huftonar3 are you both in the same region? And, is your region correct in your phone settings?

Another thing to check. Keep us posted on how things go.

Same issue QR share doesn’t work.

Wife who lives in the same home has restarted her iOS phone to remedy. However, QR code to share camera doesn’t work.

My observation is that since August 2020 Yi Home buyers can’t get a fix that is a universal remedy.

Feedback: If a representative can address this universal issue and close this lengthy thread it would be helpful.

Hi Jason - thanks for your feedback. I assure that this is not a widespread issue affecting all of our customer trying to share Yi Home with their family. This thread has periodic instances of solutions for people who have had this issue. This thread is not a customer service channel but more a place for users to learn from others.

Can you send me screenshots of what your app screen looks like or the error message received when the QR code fails?

Where is your wife pressing the QR code button? From the app home screen? Or the account menu? Please go to “account” at the bottom of your menu, then select the QR code scanner.

I am having similar issues . qr code doesn’t work . Both accounts are in the same region . I do not get the notification on the second device . I can login with second I d on the primary device accept the notification and view but i cannot access the shared camera from the second device

Can you do me a favor and send me a screenshot of the second device app Home Screen with the cameras not showing?

Here is second pic . My wife is prime on the camera . I can see the image but cannot control the camera position . I’ve tried creating new accounts deleting and adding the app etc . When trying to share the QR code never works . The account does sometime but notifications never arrive on the second device . I have to login on the device it was sent from

Can you send us a screenshot of the app error you are seeing when trying to share you account?

There is always the option, if you trust the person, of sharing your login credentials and giving them app access this way.
