Unable to Share YI Home with family

hi Steven,

Is this likely to change? my mother-in-law is overseas and would like to see her grandkids - would be great if there was a workaround to allow for this.

Hey @jonnyhamblin You can have your mother in law download the Yi or Kami Home app. Then, you can share your login information with her, and she will have no problems logging in and pulling up those camera feeds. :slight_smile:

Hi @Steven_Kami - thanks! I log in via Facebook. Can I assign my Facebook account to e-mail/password account so that i can share this?

Continuing the discussion from Unable to Share YI Home with family:

After struggling for few days with this same issue even though I had the app working with sharing before (however on changing my phone I lost app set up so had to redo) I figured that for some reason the master account doesn’t work if signed in with Apple or Facebook login. It needed me to create specific account with email and password for it to work again (also needed to reset cam and set up afresh). This issue doesn’t seem to affect the invitee whether they create account with Apple log in.

Please can someone help … same issue

I have at the account up today on wife’s phone … camera working

Set up a new account for myself (same house and WiFi used etc)

And when scanning QR code it says “please check same location etc)

Tried Turning off and on
Tried logging in and out

No joy

Are you using Facebook or Apple to log into your account?

@Pdchristal interesting indeed. Thats frustrating. I am sorry to see you’ve had some trouble.

You can also share your login information with your wife if you’d like to share your app with. They just download the yi or kami home app. and, login with your credentials.

Are the location services on your phone set to the correct place? Do you have location services turned off?

I recommend checking both of your location services.

But when I connect it with my login I can’t find my camera.

What brand of cameras are you using?

Yi or Kami cameras are the only ones which can use the Yi home app.

Yi camera home 1080p
I had to do all the setup again. Now it works :man_shrugging:t3:
