Push notifications intermittently not working

Just wait it should come back. I realise it’s frustrating.

Still not receiving alerts on my phones, iPad, and PC. I also tried downloading Kami app on my phone but it is also useless, it is not sending push alerts too. I hope someone from Yi / Kami will notice my problem with the Yi Outdoor Camera :frowning:

Hey @piaevangelista thanks for coming to the community forum for more information. This is the only report of notifications not going through, and we do believe this to be something that will straighten itself out. No need to delete and add back any cameras. Make sure your app & firmware are up to date and lets check back in tomorrow to see where this is at. All alerts & detections are still saved within your app.

If this doesn’t resolve by tomorrow, we can go from there. However, I do feel this is local issue that will resolve. Your patience is appreciated.

My Kami Mini is pushing fine to my iPhone SE with latest OS.

Is it possible the App’s separate notification settings are turned off?

Hi @Steven_Kami. According to my Yi Outdoor Camera’s firmware, it says the firmware is current version. My iPhone’s apps and iOS are also up to date, as well as my iPad. I’ll give update tomorrow if the problem has been resolved. Thanks!

Notification for Yi Home App on my phone is turned on. I never changed the setting since the first time I used the app.

Because the issue is on multiple devices - Like I have experienced - it is highly unlikely that the issue is at your end.

As I say this does seem to happen from time to time for some customers. They will return, or have for everyone else who has ever reported this issue.

It’s annoying but the cameras are still recording so do not do anything. Don’t change a thing.

Hi @Steven_Kami. Still no notifications going through. It’s been 4 days now.

Can you go into your camera settings and then select “Camera Name” and send us your Device ID #? We can do a little more digging to see if there are any issues on the device

@Steven_Kami, just wanted to share that push alert notifications went back on Saturday for a few hours but stopped sending push alerts again on Sunday. I also noticed that when the alarm is triggered it will sound after I think more than a minute delay

That is very strange… Let me share this update with our team and see what feedback I get. And, thank you for sharing. Super helpful for us.

It’s been two weeks now since my app is not sending push alerts. Really sad. I’m gonna try to reset the camera already.

Are the other notifications on your phone working ok? Have you checked to ensure that you’ve made no unintentional changes to your app notifications - either in the app or the phone settings?

It is strange, and the first time, that notifications have gone away and stayed away for this length of time

Hey @piaevangelista I am sorry to hear you’re having troubles still. That is really frustrating.

This is the only report of notifications not working properly. It is not a widespread issue affecting a large number of users. That would lend to the theory that it is something going on with the phone or the wireless connection.

How is your internet speed? Do you have any other wifi’s you can test on?
Are you having any other alert notifications failure on your phone for other apps?

I am sorry to hear this isn’t resolved. We will get this figured out.

Much like the other people in this forum, I’m having issues with receiving alert notifications. I’ve owned the camera (the dome 1080) for 1.5 weeks and everything has been working well but today I no longer receive notifications

Home and away settings are turned on accordingly, motion and person detection are turned on and set to high for sensitivity level, sound detection is on at 80 dB, alert frequency is set to high 24/7, and notifications for the app are set to “allow” on my iPhone. App is also up to date and so is my iPhone

Kind of bummed because the whole reason for the camera is for the safety of the smart detections :confused: any help would be appreciated

Are you using Yi or Kami Home app?
Are you using the most recent up version?
What model is your iPhone?

Hi @Steven_Kami I have the same issue!
Push notifications worked well for over a year, and suddenly stopped working. I have YI IoT and iPhone - all setting are correct. Everything is up to date. I tried uninstalling/installing the app, then I tried resetting the camera and setting it up again but nothing helps. Looking forward to hearing from you.
