Hey @Juarezpj thank you very much for the great intro! I have some friends from Sao Paulo and it sounds like a fascinating city. I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with your cameras.
Good morning! I have been using YI cameras for years now. Love the simplicity. I’m new to the community and am unsure of how to post questions. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @SuzseeQ thank you so much for joining the forum. It’s great to have more long time YI users like yourself around here! If you have a question, all you need to do is head over to the Community Support section of the forum and click on the ‘New Topic’ button. Looking forward to helping out however I can

We’ve been using the yi outdoor wifi camera for several months now and it’s been (mostly) really intuitive to set up and display (really love the ability to stream to smart devices via voice!)
(Just thought of this idea… How about the ability to ask “who is it?” Via voice command without having to find your phone, open an app, hit or hold a button, and utter the phrase whilst holding said button. I for one would LOVE this feature. Also, once the task had been triggered, the stream sends to smart devices to “see” in screen who is there, also a great feature.
Really impressed with your outreach and social media posting. I can see that you all really care (and are actively encouraged I’m sure) about making the products less daunting more interactive/intuitive and all around user/developer friendly.
It’s refreshing to see a tech company employ so many non tech related employees (psychology really!? That’s awesome!)
I hope (and am quite certain) that your company continues to be as communicative as you already seem to be going forward. Especially what with the age of social distancing becoming the norm, a firm and healthy grasp of what makes tech approachable intuitive and “human” will serve us all going forward. You + and I = Yi indeed.
Cheers!

Hello Lonny and Tina and welcome to the forum! We’re so glad you are enjoying your camera! And thank you so much for the kind words! Our team were very touched by your post. You really summed up perfectly everything that we are striving for, so this totally made our morning Are you living in Anchorage or Honolulu? If you’re in Anchorage have you ever caught a bear on camera??
In regards to your idea about being able to ask “who is it?" that would be really cool, but it is a skill that Google or Amazon would have to add. But voice activation is definitely something that we will want to incorporate more of in the future in general. So I’ve added your suggestion to my ideas and suggestions sheet. Perhaps it’s something we can look into for the doorbell camera.
Larry a new user from Western Kentucky. I am 76 and a retired anesthetist and not really tech savy due to age. Just wanted a camera to watch my driveway because I have had some attempts at breaking into my truck that sits out. Very pleased with ease of instillation and getting on line. I hope to learn some things here. Thanks
Welcome @bucky! It’s great to have you hear. Please don’t hesitate to create a post if you have any questions about your new camera.

Hi! I’m Chuck. We live in southwest Iowa. A friend of mine told me about the YI cameras. I purchased my first one about 4 months ago. I wanted to see for myself how well it would work for us. I found the installation, setup and features were just what I was looking for. We purchased two more. I installed the second camera about 2 months ago. I had the same experience with it. The video from them is just fantastic. I then injured my knee and had to have surgery. I finally installed the third camera on the 30th of October. Things have not gone as well with the third one. While looking for information, I found this forum. So that is why I joined. I am hoping someone can give me an answer to my problem.
Hey Chuck! Welcome to the Forum. I’m Kami_Anne part of the support team. Let me know your questions about the cameras.
Thanks for asking . Brian Geraghty answered my question. I had used a USB adapter that was not giving me enough power when the infrared light came on so it was going off line each evening at the same time.
I’m glad the issue is now resolved.
hi have 5 camers. including the wireless outdoor.
live in London.
can’t log in only on one device at the moment so looking for advice.

I’m a devops geek by trade with a background in enterprise ops. I stumbled into Yi devices and community because my current service has been a bit lacking lately. I’m currently running a side by side comparison between the Yi devices and a DIY setup that I stitched together with some open source and some of my own Python code. So far the detections are about even.
@stickman welcome to the community! That is some interesting stuff. I am really curious to see how your DIY setup compares to Yi Devices. I think that’s really cool you have the skillset to build something you can test against. Definitely keep us posted on the results. And, thanks for the information! I’m sure others in the community will be interested.
Just ordered my Yi cameras, looking forward to them arriving tomorrow and setting them up!
I am taking the first step in what I hope to be a long term investment with Yi.
With that in mind why not add motion sensors to the app now and a remote indoor and outdoor siren, thus making it an all in one home security bundle.
