Help with Yi Home Camera 2

Hi

I have a weird situation. My camera has the solid yellow light. I have tried all the suggestions on the forums and ones I can find on the web. When the camera is plugged into a power supply the light stays yellow but if I plug it into my laptop it works perfectly. I’ve tried using different power supplies, different lengths of cable, with the memory card, without the memory card, setting it up plugged into the laptop then switching to a mains power supply. Literally everything I can think of. Has anyone had this happen and if so how have you solved it?

Have you tried resetting the camera? You have to use a paperclip to depress the reset button on the camera. Check the manual for the location of the reset button

Hi, yes as I said I’ve tried absolutely everything. It’s fine plugged into the laptop but as soon as I connect to a power supply I get the solid yellow light.

I’ve had exactly the same issue, and sadly purchased four units (two boxes of two) thinking it was a fault with the cameras.

Turns out I just needed to use another 5V 1A USB power supply - even the ones supplied in the box failed to work. A lot of trial and error with various USB cables and the ten or so USB bricks I’ve accrued over the years allowed me to figure this out, so I recommend you give it a try with a few different mobile phone chargers if you have any to hand.
