I have a Goowls outdoor 1080p camera and it keeps turning itself to the wall and getting stuck. I try to turn it in either direction and it says this is as far as I can go, I can move it up and down. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?
Hello I don’t know anything about that brand of camera other than it makes use of Yi IOT app. All I can think of trying is to reset it. Other than try try searching on the internet to see if that brand does have a forum which may offer help like this does for Kami & Yi brand.
Some of our community members here may have some knowledge of this brand and could maybe offer more assistance than I have.
If you cannot get it sorted Kami produce some excellent cameras that may be worth considering if you need to purchase new ones.
Hey @Rschiferl77 Thanks for coming to the community for more information. I would reset the camera, then remove it from your account. Uninstall the Yi iOT app, re-install., go through the pairing process again and test results…
Let us know how it goes
I have tried all of that, I have even turned off motion tracking and one of the times I reset it I left it unplugged for two days and still it turns towards the wall and all I can do is look up and down.
Hey @Rschiferl77 It sounds like this is a hardware issue not an app issue. I would recommend contacting Goowls to see their solutions for camera stuck in one position.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. And, keep us posted on what Goowls has to say.
If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend contacting them at their 1-844-394-5218 customer service number (if purchased through Amazon). Leave your name and number if prompted and wait for a callback. I believe they’re open 9a-6p Pacific.
I hope this helps. Best of luck!
To me this issue sounds to be a likely solder bridge keeping the motor powered in whichever direction it favors. In my experience with other cameras in this price group it isn’t uncommon to find a questionable solder joint, or one that failed due to a variety of factors. If you are out of warranty, you could probably identify and fix the issue if you have a solder station.
Which exact model do you have? I’ll try to locate a schematic.
I’m having the same problem. Any updates on the solution? Solder joint? Schematic available?
Thanks for your response.
The website you gave me asks if I want to set up a domain on Shopify. Is there a better way to contact them?
Has anyone find a resolve for this issue as yet? I am having the same problem with this camera whereby it is stuck towards the wall
