recently purchased a camera that only records 6s video segments.SD card has been formated.
any advice on how to extend record time by more than 6s

I believe you are referring to the 6seconds clip from the alerts? Try going to the camera live feed first and make sure you are on SD, and then you can either scroll through the timeline or play the clip from the alert/detection.
