Using the YI Home PC app, I set up a group with 4 cameras to monitor four outside areas. All four cameras are set to SD.
Over the period of one month (30days) the app used well over 500Gb of internet data.
Conversely my iPad (same network) continually displaying one camera used 50MB in the same 30 day period.
Streaming HD movies and shows on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon uses a fraction of the data these cameras and the PC app are using in the same time frame.
This level of data usage is absurd. We really need the ability to set these cameras up as IP cameras for local monitoring. Or some ability to have the app simply source the video feed from the local network.
