SD card has stopped recording

From the external camera software update about a week ago two things have happened.

Firstly the zoom function only zooms into the middle to bottom of the screen, you are not able to zoom to anything in the top of the screen.

Secondly the internal SD card has stopped recording.
I have reset the camera and even deleted it and added it again but no luck
It is not the SD card itself because I can still view videos recorded 2-3 days ago on the card, it’s just stopped recording now, I’m sure it’s a software issue

Please help if possible

Hey @Tonyw Thanks for coming to the forum for more information. We are aware of the zoom issue and currently working right now to fix it. It will be fixed in an upcoming release.

Have you recently tried reformatting the SD card? Or do you have another SD card you can try to see if it works?

I have 4 cameras. 2 yi home 720, 1 yi home 1080 and one external.
2 720’s have the sd card option in the app, the other two do not rendering the cameras useless.
I have reset them and reformatted the card but no change

It’s a software issue, I have the same issue when one of my cameras was working perfectly then after a software update, now does not record anymore.
Done reformatted sd card but still nothing

Its a pain and basically rendered them useless

Any idea of a software fix??

There has been zero communication in regards to a fix.
Have tried a new SD card but still doesn’t record.
Camera is a waste of money as far as I am concerned.

Was great for the year or so before Yi ruined it

I totally agree, there was nothing wrong with it before the software update so why ?

Do you have different SD cards you can try?
Have you recently reformatted your SD cards?
What is your operating system?
What version of the app do you have?

I look forward to getting this resolved and figured out for you both.

Its purely a software issue.
Seems to be affecting the 1080 cameras and not the 720s
As shown in screenshot!


This is viewing on either pc or android, yi or Kami
Everything is up to date and tried multiple sd cards and only happened after yi started messing with software

Out of desperation I format my SD card all the time hoping one day it will start to record like it used to before the update.
You have fixed the zoom issue but you still need to fix the recording to SD card issue.
Can’t believe you don’t know what’s going on, it works before the update just put it back

Have no idea about this issue and i am an individual one off case…

Apparently nobody has reported the fault as seen above in screenshots

6 months later kami support still have no resolution… as they no longer operate as advertised and on the basis they were sold i am starting an action against kami with trading standards
