I have had the Dome Camera 1080 installed for about a year now, it is great to be able to see what is going on at home when we are away. For the first 10 months or so it worked great, good picture, constant motion, easy to use, easy to control, and consistently with about a 2 second delay between the action and the picture. For some reason, the last month or so has been terrible. The camera starts up just as quick as always, but then the problem starts. The picture freezes, the time on the camera skips and often moves in 10-20 second still frames. When I try to move the camera my command does not cause any movement of the camera for about 10-20 seconds. I get a delayed picture, a frozen picture, delayed commands. The camera has become virtually useless. My home wifi has not changed at all, I have the same iphone and the same laptop, nothing has changed. How do I get my continuous motion picture and immediate camera operation back?
Hello @mozes37, sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve encountered. We have couple of troubleshooting you might want to perform. Please see below steps.
Please try these troubleshooting steps:
- Update your phone software version
- Reset the camera to factory defaults using a paper clip press the reset button
- Delete the camera from the YI Home application
- Uninstall/Reinstall the YI home app
- Proceed with the pairing process
Just a suggestion, may not help, but the more an sd card is used and erased then used again, it picks up “trash”. Try putting in a brand new SD card and formatting it to the camera.
I have the same issue with the Yi Outdoor 1080p, as soon it gets movement, it freezes.
