Outdoor camera - memory card shows 0

Hi, purchased a memory card and wondering why it shows free 0 total 0 , some times and 29 gb on other times

Card is in good condition and works in other cameras without fault.

Try to format the card and see what happens.

What brand of card are you using and it’s class

You say it works in other cameras what brand are these? Also my understanding is that when you move a SD card from one source to another to ensure data integrity (if wishing to write to it) you should format it in the new host device.

I think it shows the full amount when connected for a while and zero when not. You would not believe how many times I formatted when I thought it was faulty.

If you have one does it ever show 0?

I have multiple (Yi branded cameras, using SD cards - mostly san disk brand but also a couple with Samsung) and I have had no issues with the SD cards. I have seen some have issues like you have but they never confirmed if the troubleshooting they were given worked or not. So it doesn’t help other customers who may encounter the same issue.

Previously one person did say they got it corrected by unplugging the camera for a period of thirty seconds.

I only use san disk. I’ve been burnt too many times buying anything else. Sandisk only. Lots of cards out there. Many are junk or unsuitable

Could be the brand/type of SD card.
Requires at least a Class 10

I’m currently using SanDisk 64gb Extreme Micro SD with no issues.
Could be something as simple as the Class & quality of the memory card.

Good luck!
