Oh yeah, I like to tinker.
I also “Frankenstein” solar lights for fun.
I once had a solar light I was playing around with that wasn’t charging.
So I decided to wait until the battery discharged.
Well after three days the light was still on.
So I took a drastic step, I put the lamp in a dark closet so there was no way for the battery to recharge.
I kept looking in the closet at that lamp to go out.
Finally one day I opened the closet and the lamp was off.
That took only 43 days!!!
Now mind you the lamp wasn’t overly bright after a couple weeks but it was still ON.
I was determined to wait it out!
By the way, the problem was a defective solar panel.
I could have figured it out 42.5 days earlier but I thought WTH, let’s have fun
