Kami Yi pan and tilt connection over the internet issue

Hi
I have pan and til Yi home camera. Camera is fine, but it has annoying issue.
It takes forever to connect to over the internet. When I am at home, I can log into camera in seconds. When I am at work or anywhere else, I have to wait for long time, until connection attempt time sout, then retry circle shows, tap on it - and it connects right away. If I log in remotely and let app run, it also connects right away. It’s the very first connection attempt that takes forever.
I also have a basic Yi home camera, on same home network, and it connects in seconds.So it’s not our WIFI or internet connection, it’s that particular camera acting up.
I had it deleted and reinstalled three times, same result.
Our WIFI speed is 120Mbps, so it’s not that.
Kami told me to return the camera for credit but

  1. I need camera
  2. camera itself is fine
  3. I have no guarantee, replacement will not be doing same or worse
  4. I don’t really want to load my phone with more and more cameras apps.
    I want THIS camera to work.
    Any suggestions?
