Camera not working 4G

Hey! We bought the YI camera to keep an eye on our puppy when we leave him for short periods. Unfortunately, the camera will not connect/update on a 4G connection. I have seen other posts RE three network and the new IOS update however I’m on EE. Any ideas? It connects as soon as I’m connected to WiFi but obviously when I’m out and about that’s not possible. It cannot be that the connection isn’t strong enough as at points when our WiFi has gone down I’ve used my 4G to hotspot the TV/Xbox.

Thanks

Leanne

Hello. Have you tried the advice that is afforded to other customers who experience the same issue you are? If so, why was the outcome? Have you been able to revert to 3G signal only on your iPhone to see if that returns your access to the Yi/Kami backbone?

I have this issue myself, albeit on a different network to yourself, on iPhone only. Testing on a Android device and no issue - using the same network and 5g as well.

Do not get too into the strength of to your signal to get you back working try the advice.

Try the advice given, as you mention in your post and comment back if you need anything further.

Hey @Lea Please connect to 3g while you’re out to view your cameras.

This will totally clear up any issues you’ve been having if you switch to 3g instead of 4g.

Let me know how it goes.

It might be worth investigating why this appears to be happening? Seems to impact only iPhones running ios11+. I have only heard of reports from UK mobile networks impacted by this issue though.

That said, I myself experience this issue but on occasions it does work on 4g - this is intermittent though.

This does not occur on Android Pixel 4XL on 4G - FYI
