For the person detected alerts - how far do they go back? I appreciate that if you want it a few days ago the paid service is needed. But not overnight? 
This is by design. But, let me get clarification on exactly the storage settings moving forward.
It does record! via the activity button on the main screen. (Middle icon)

We are trying to make things as simple as possible. We pretty much combined the cloud icon and alerts icon into 1. 4 bottom menu selection options to 3. And, we are working to bring back any of the missing features. This was unintentional. We feel that once you get used to it, you will much prefer the new UI
