Orribile… no other words…
Users need to wait 5 seconds before accessing their own camera feeds
I assume you want to push to buy your cloud service but in this way you obtain the opposite result… credibility goes down and down!!
Hi, we apologize for any issue you might be having! Could you send details of what you are experiencing to our customer support at https://www.kamihome.com/contact? We’ll get you up and running.
And here lays the problem….
No matter what questions/frustrations are passed through these forum threads the answer is always the same “please contact our customer support. We’ll get you up and running”!
That is NOT the answer your user base needs. That answer is cold, not addressing the problem that many will be looking to see what Yi/Kami are providing… It is simply ‘Passing the Buck’.
You used to have a chap who would at least out of courtesy communicate with the forum users. He always tried to reassure when clearly frustrations were high. I often challenged him but I always admired him for at least making an effort.
In respect of the OP. Steffano has a valid point and should not be passed to an email address where no one else will be privy to the reply… It needs to be here for others to be reassured.
Dear @Sarah_Kami,
sorry but I totally agree with @Beards …
Why should I contact you privatelly for this argument ?
It’s all written here so there is nothing to add and it is very simply to understand… you should simply answer here so everyone could read the answer about this very bad news about the app…
Do you want to do ?
Even if I realize (by reading all the other posts for other issues/arguments) that you never want to answer publicly and/or confirm any issues… so the only good thing of such forum is to share issues with other users… without getting any real support from YI
Paid cloud users also get the advertisements! This just started with the latest release of the app. Beyond frustrating
@spanzetta what do you mean with you have to wait 5 seconds? Is there any blocking dialog poping up or is the app taking long to present the feed? I am asking because I had an issue with a camera, where this was basically taking forever to load the feed (sd) and the live stream, all this stopped after I added a WiFi extender.
5 seconds is the minimum time you have yo wait for the advertising window you must see
I have used Yi cameras for many years and am happy with the products, but you are pushing people like me away from your products.
At 0415 this morning, I was alerted to activity in the driveway. I open the Yi App only to be hit with an advertisement playing loud music offering some game. By the time I finally got to the camera in question, the activity had gone, my partner awoke with a shock at the noise. This advertising has to stop. I like many others have bought numerous Yi cameras (x6) and use them to monitor areas primarily for security. The insistence of showing an app before allowing the purchaser to switch to the camera is not acceptable. Yes I know there is a subscription service, but when we purchased these cameras that was optional. Now we are constantly bullied to subscribe.
Also be advised that I have also received scam notices on your app. One telling me my phone has been compromised and that I should press a button. This is unethical and you as the provider are responsible to ensure scam messages do not appear in your product.
It has to stop else we move to a different product.
Go on Amazon and leave reviews to let people know about this nonsense with the ads. I and a bunch of others who made the mistake of buying Yi garbage are spreading the word by posting reviews online that tell people not to buy it ‘cuz not only do they incessantly spam you with ads for their cloud service, they now are actually showing ads for other companies before you can start using their (crappy) software. Ideally you can try recommending Tapo cameras instead (same pricing but with fantastic software)but Amazon might not accept the review. Also, post the same (scathing) review under 1, 3 and 4 stars so the most people see it.
Go on Amazon and leave reviews to let people know about this nonsense with the ads. In the main heading, type “AD infested garbage software” and then tell folks how they incessantly spam you with ads for their cloud service and now they now are actually showing ads for other companies before you can start using their (crappy) software. And post the same (scathing) review under 1, 3 and 4 stars so the most people see it. If it doesn’t get them to either stop this horse sh*t at least it might save others from having to deal with it.
Hey - hit ‘em where it hurts. Go on Amazon and leave reviews to let people know about this nonsense with the ads. In the main heading, type something like “nona-stop ads in their garbage software” and then tell folks how they spam you with ads for their cloud service and how now they are actually showing ads for other companies before you can start using their (crappy) software. And be sure to post the same review under 1, 3 and 4 stars so the most people see it. If it doesn’t get them to either stop this horse sh*t at least it might save others from having to deal with it.
I will never buy anymore their products.
I’m starting to push on Apple app store and Android Store with negative feedback. I will do the same on amazon where i bought the cameras.
